Le Cadeau Diversite Pinot Noir 2022

Willamette Valley, OR
750 ml
94 pts. James Suckling:

"A pretty nose of strawberries, Morello cherries and dried flowers. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity. Well-balanced and silky, with a pure core of juicy cherries mixing with a white pepper lift, bringing vitality and balance. Crafty and well-composed, with a vibrant, persistent finish."

 93 pts. Vinous:

"The 2022 Pinot Noir Diversité is dusty and floral, displaying a cascade of violets and rose petals accentuated by sweet spice, giving way to a core of crushed blackberries. It's silky smooth with rich red and blue fruits that ride a wave of brisk acidity. Its minerality comes through on the finish, mixing with hints of sour citrus under an air of lavender. The 2022 tapers off long and gently tannic."

I literally melted off my chair when I took my first sip of this Pinot! Wow, what a fabulous wine! Lots of complexity; deep silky fruit flavors, wonderful Willamette Valley minerality, and baking spiciness that lingers on and on. This wine is a winner! - Wine Factor

FROM THE WINERY

The 2022 Le Cadeau Diversité Pinot Noir is sourced from mixed-clone blocks at the North end of our estate vineyard. The diversity of clones, along with varying sunlight exposure on each block and a slight change in soil, creates a complex and distinguished Pinot Noir. The Swiss Mariafeld clone in particular lends natural spice notes to the wine, which have become distinctive characteristics in this cuvee. The Diversite blocks range from heavily broken volcanic basalt on the NW corner, to the more lush Nekia soil of the NE corner.
